in army life, where things are always done with a group of people, there is always time wasted. as the saying goes, we rush to wait, and wait to rush all over again. then there are those that are smart enough to recognize the group's inertia, and make use of the waiting time to be more efficient. they think: everyone's not going yet, so i might as well do something else first while people slowly start to move. or so they think.
these are the ppl who have reflected enough to believe they are being smarter than others, but not wise enough to realize the additional weight they add to the group's inertia. they are the ones that call others 'uptight' and tell them to 'relax' in that condescending tone, not realizing that the 'uptight' ppl are the guys that shift the bellcurve of inertia to an overall faster group speed. each person that completes his task faster without taking his own sweet time is a psychological impetus for the next person to complete his own task too, increasing the group's total efficiency.
bahh excuse my disdain and pardon my contempt, but some sins simply must be condemned.
laughZ. my platoon mate called me "innocent" lehhhh. and that i don't observe ppl well enough. hmm i wonder how i should react when they say that. do i think: ahahaha they just don't know me well enough. or =) i haven't lost my innocence and my youth. or am i really too naive? no idea. but no la i won't kid myself... i've lost far more to be what i was a few years ago... the question is: have i lost too much?
to use my bro's words, i've somehow eaten adam's apple of rationality long before i lost my youth. how am i juggling the amalgam? is it a salad bowl or will it eventually become a melting pot of gruel? two sides of the same coin or two different coins? can they co-exist?
edit: faintZ reading this post again i can't even remember myself what i'm referring to. sheesh.
